A hot week is in store with highs getting to around 10 degrees above normal! Rain chances will remain fairly low but could pick up somewhat this weekend and next week.
Like Tuesday, more sizzling heat is in store today as highs reach the upper 80s to lower and middle 90s. There will be a chance of a few showers and storms in the afternoon and early evening.
Thursday turns up the heat a little more, reaching at least 90 degrees everywhere and likely the mid to upper 90s for the Upstate and northeast GA. Rain chances look small at best. We could use some rain, as conditions are “abnormally dry” for much of the Upstate. If we have many more dry days, these conditions could worsen.
Friday brings back a slightly better rain chance and some extra clouds, holding temperatures down closer to average. The weekend looks less sunny with added cloud cover and perhaps a decent chance of scattered showers Saturday. We'll also be watching the Gulf for tropical development this weekend.
Temperatures near mid-September averages toward early next week as some rain chances stick around.
