Though clouds will remain stubborn, record heat is likely toward Thursday and Friday.

Mostly cloudy conditions are expected through the day with mountain rain chances decreasing and Upstate rain chances remaining low. Highs should reach the low 60s – a nice recovery from Tuesday!

The heat is on for Thursday and Friday! Highs should soar into the middle 70s area-wide, putting both Asheville and GSP’s records of 74° and 75° in jeopardy. The Upstate could flirt with 80 degrees Friday.

A weakening front will bring a good chance of rain to the mountains Friday, but Upstate rain chances look rather low but not impossible.

The weekend brings a wet Saturday at times, but Sunday’s weather is looking a bit improved/drier. Unsettled conditions/spotty showers become possible again next week.
