Some chilly nights will lead to pleasant spring afternoons this week. Dry weather will remain in place until late in the weekend.

With a sunny yet breezy day ahead, temperatures will climb nicely into the mid 60s to low 70s this afternoon. The winds will be stronger in the higher elevations of NC, where a wind advisory continues until 8 PM this evening for gusts up to 50 mph.

Wednesday will be the warmest day all week with sunshine bringing highs to the 70s and low 80s. A front will sweep through Thursday to drop temps and pick up wind speeds. Highs will be back in the 60s and low 70s to wrap up the week. A few early morning showers are possible in the mountains early Thursday morning.

Rain pushes back in for the weekend, but it should hold off until late Sunday into Monday.
