We’re not done with winter yet despite how warm we were in February!

We’re monitoring 2 systems that will definitely bring rain to the area today and this weekend, but there’s also the possibility of snow on the cold side of both systems.

Those snow chances only concern the western North Carolina mountains Wednesday and Thursday morning where a dusting up to two inches of snow will fall in high elevations along the Tennessee border.

An even more potent system will move in Saturday and Sunday which will bring rain and few thunderstorms to the area on the warm side of it.

Sunday night into Monday is when the cold side hits, and that is when the mountains and *possibly* the far northern Upstate could get a light rain/snow mix into early Monday morning.

The American and European computer models are still in disagreement as it is very early in the forecast. For now, the GFS (American) model is the most aggressive with this wintry threat. Stay tuned for the latest! Copyright 2018 FOX Carolina (Meredith Corporation). All rights reserved.
