A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Greenville, Spartanburg, Laurens, Cherokee, Union, Polk, Rutherford, and McDowell counties until 3 PM Wednesday and Newberry county until 7 PM Wednesday.

Snow is winding down for most of western NC but light snow or flurries continue for some of the Upstate. Roads will become slick through the day because of snow coating the roadways.

Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning - Light snow or flurries for the Upstate along with icy roads will remain for the afternoon. Temperatures will remain at or below freezing.

The sky clears this evening and tonight, but black ice will be likely Wednesday night with lows down in the teens and single digits possible in the mountains.

A wind chill advisory has been issued for a good chunk of western North Carolina until Thursday morning. The "feels like" temperature could get as low as -10 F.

Thursday will bring temps back into the 40s with sunshine, so roads should improve greatly by then. Highs will actually get into the low 60s for the Upstate this weekend.
