Early morning earthquake reported in SC

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in the Midlands on Tuesday.

LUGOFF, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in the Midlands on Tuesday.

The USGS said the quake had a magnitude of 1.7 and a depth of 1 kilometer. It hit at 6:30 a.m.

The earthquake was 4.1 miles south of Lugoff, 19.5 miles east northeast of Forest Acres and 22.3 miles east northeast of Columbia.
