COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and running back Oscar Adaway III were nominated to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team on Tuesday.

College football student-athletes and head coaches from all levels of the sport are recognized for their commitment to community service and leadership beyond the playing field through the award.

Beamer, who enters his fifth season in Columbia, has several notable accomplishments on the field, including leading the Gamecocks to a 9-4 season and No. 19 final ranking in the AP poll in 2024.

He and his wife, Emily, founded the Beamer Family Foundation in 2021. Aimed at empowering children and families, the nonprofit prioritizes educational, health, and community support initiatives.

Meanwhile, Adaway, who is entering his second season with the Gamecocks and seventh season overall, is this year’s SEC Football Leadership Council Chair.

Adaway has given back to the community through several organizations, including the SEC Leadership Conference Service Project and the Beamer Foundation Backpack Drive.

Beamer and Adaway are among a record-breaking group of 197 Good Works Team nominees. It is the highest number of nominations in the award’s 34-year history.

The final roster of 23 award recipients will be announced in September. 11 players from the FBS will be selected, along with 11 players from the FCS, Division II, Division III and the NAIA. One honorary head coach will also be named.
