On Monday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of dissemination, procuring or promoting obscenity and two counts of aggravated voyeurism.

Onstad was first arrested on March 13, 2024, on charges filed by an unnamed woman in Charleston County. He was arrested again in Berkeley County for charges filed by two separate women approximately two weeks later.

Onstad allegedly recorded himself having sex with the victim in her bedroom. He then uploaded the recorded video of their encounter to OnlyFans, where he made money from the upload.

In February 2024, one of the victims learned, after speaking with another woman who had dated Onstad, that videos of her and Onstad were on OnlyFans.

The victim then checked Onstad’s OnlyFans account to see if there were any videos of her posted. That’s where she found a video of herself about a month after he uploaded the video.

The account charged $3 to view the video.

Court documents state the woman then decided to confront him via text. He replied, “Hey.. I did, it was a terrible thing to do. I was in a bad spot in life and bad spot financially and it was stupid of me. I should’ve never done that without your consent and put you at jeopardy. I deleted everything off my profile and I’m deleting the whole thing as well. I’m really sorry that was terrible and selfish of me to do that.”

After pleading guilty, Onstad was sentenced to three years in prison followed by three years’ probation. If he were to violate probation, he could spend an additional seven years behind bars.

He is required to register as a sex offender and attend mental health counseling.

Onstad worked as a loan officer for a mortgage company in Mount Pleasant.

In August 2025, Onstad was named in a federal lawsuit that detailed the same allegations he pleaded guilty to on Monday. Onstad, however, never responded to the lawsuit, federal court records state.
