High school principal facing felony charge resigns, officials say
WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (KFVS/Gray News) - A high school principal in Illinois is stepping down from his position amid an investigation into a felony charge.
The Frankfort Community School District announced that Aaron Hill resigned as of Monday night. He was serving as the principal at Frankfort Community High School.
The school district said it received an irrevocable letter of resignation from Hill on Monday, with the resignation being effective immediately.
Hill was arrested in February on a felony aggravated battery charge in connection with an investigation in Franklin County.
School leaders did not release further information regarding the charge, but did say the situation in question happened outside of school.
Hill had been placed on paid administrative leave on Feb. 3.
The board of education is scheduled to hold a special meeting on June 11 to consider personnel issues.
