Ranch dressing becomes unexpected souvenir for fans visiting U.S. during World Cup

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — As Europeans visit the United States for the FIFA World Cup, they’re not just bringing home memories. According to the Transportation Security Agency (TSA), they’re also bringing bottles upon bottles of ranch dressing.
Invented by a man cooking for Alaskan work crews in the 1950’s, ranch is a uniquely American condiment. Many Europeans documenting their World Cup adventures on social media have shared their delight in its unique flavor.
“Why did no one tell me ranch sauce is like crack? EUROPE WE NEED RANCH ASAP,” Swedish X user @elsathora exclaimed.
“Careful or you’re going to go home and not fit into anything 🤣,” one user commented, to which she responded, “My biggest worry 🤣.”
That said, the TSA is reminding people in a series of social media posts that carry-on bags can only contain 3.4 ounces of liquid — including ranch.
“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & happen to discover RANCH while you’re here... pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home,” the agency said.
“Ok please avoid chugging your ranch outside security. The airlines will check it for you,” another post added.
And the number of days since the last “airport ranch incident?” That’s at zero.
