Woman accused of stealing more than $610,000 in 8 months from dental office she worked at
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF/Gray News) - Police in South Carolina arrested an employee of a dental office after the business reported an alleged breach of trust in August.
On Aug. 20, officers responded to Affordable Dentures & Implants on 38th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach after the regional manager filed a complaint against employee Ashanti Kinney.
Kinney’s job was to collect money from customers and deposit it at the bank, the report states.

Investigators confiscated bank records, audit documents and scheduling paperwork. The documents show that from Jan. 1 to Aug. 15, Kinney allegedly stole $612,990.20 from the business.
Officials say Kinney would go through patient accounts and mark them as “paid” for the procedures, but she would then keep the cash.
Kinney was arrested on Nov. 18 and is charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent. She posted $20,000 bond and has been released from jail.
