DPH: One exposed to fox with rabies in Greenwood County

GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) said that one person has been exposed to a fox that tested positive for rabies in Greenwood County.

DPH said the fox was found near Woodbury Drive and Woodlawn Road and submitted for testing on Friday. It was confirmed to have rabies on Monday.

The person who was exposed to the fox has been referred to their healthcare provider, according to DPH.

Anyone who believes they or their pet has come in contact with the fox is asked to call DPH’s Upstate Greenville-Spartanburg office at (864) 372-3270.
