Officials issue boil water advisory following water main in western NC
MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - McDowell County Emergency Management announced that a water main break has resulted in a water service outage for Nebo Water customers.
Officials said that the water main break occurred on US 70 East near Rolands Chapel Road. Repair crews were on the scene as of 3:15 a.m. Friday, working to restore water service as quickly and safely as possible.
At this time, customers in the affected area may experience little to no water pressure while repairs are underway, according to officials.
The Division of Environmental Health advises that affected customers boil all water used for human consumption, including making ice and washing hands, to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes.
