Classic summer pattern continues with scattered mainly afternoon storms

The thunderstorms will continue to have the possibility of some small hail, frequent lightning and heavy downpours.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Our weather pattern will change very little over the next couple of days. This means typical late June heat and humidity with spotty afternoon showers and storms. The thunderstorms will continue to have the possibility of some small hail, frequent lightning and heavy downpours. A few will be strong to severe with wind gusts over 60 mph, potentially downing some trees and causing spotty power outages.

Storm chances will increase Tuesday as a front approaches the area. We will monitor Tuesday for the possibility of a First Alert Weather Day. The front is expected to move past our area and if it does, we will dry out some for the July 4th Holiday.

Hot temperatures will be the rule, with low 90s for highs in the Upstate. Feels like temps will get close to 100. After dropping a bit Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will start to heat up into the holiday weekend.
