NFL WR, former Gamecock Deebo Samuel hosts kids camp in Spartanburg
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Current NFL wide receiver and former South Carolina Gamecock Deebo Samuel returned to the Palmetto State over the weekend.
Samuel, who was born in Inman, teamed up with D1 All Access to host a free kids camp at Spartanburg High School. Over 400 kids, including Samuel’s own, participated in skills and games on Saturday afternoon.
“This is where I’m from,” Samuel said of putting on the camp in Spartanburg. “Good to show face to the people. Some of these kids, I know their parents. So, it’s just good to see everyone for sure.”
Samuel said he only makes it back to South Carolina a few times per year, but makes sure to spend time with his family when he does.
The former Gamecock was an All-American at South Carolina before being drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
