Big South Baseball Championship Relocated to Gardner-Webb

ASHEVILLE, S.C. (Big South Conference) - With the continual inclement weather in the Asheville area causing delays in providing adequate and safe playing conditions, the remainder of the Big South Baseball Championship has been re-located to Gardner-Webb University. Winthrop-Longwood was already scheduled to be played at GWU today (Saturday), and now High Point-USC Upstate will follow that contest this evening. The final elimination game will be played immediately afterward. Sunday’s Championship Day will be played at GWU. The conference is making every effort to have ESPN+ coverage for Sunday, and the intent since the beginning of the championship has been to finish the conference tournament schedule in its entirety. The situation remains fluid as the day progresses.

Admission is free. Below is the updated schedule. Unfortunately, no ESPN+ coverage will be available for Saturday, but audio broadcasts has been secured for the remaining games.

Saturday, May 23 (Games 7-9) - at Gardner-Webb

Game 8 - #2 Winthrop vs. #6 Longwood, 2:00pm (elimination)

Game 7 - #1 High Point vs. #3 USC Upstate, TBD

Game 9 - Loser Game 7 vs. Winner Game 8, TBD (elimination)

Sunday, May 24 - (Championship Day)

Game 10 - Winner Game 7 vs. Winner Game 9, TBD

Game 11 - if necessary, 45 minutes following completion of Game 10
