Scottie Hunter is a morning co-anchor for The Morning News on Fox Carolina.
He is originally from Montgomery, Ala. He graduated in 2012 from Alabama State University and is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
He comes to Fox Carolina after spending the last eight years at WAFB in Baton Rouge, LA. While there, he covered a number of investigative reports, including a deep dive into the Brave Cave-- a secretive facility that certain members of the Baton Rouge Police Department are accused of using to carry out illegal strip-searches and beatings in an off-the-books manner. His investigative work has been recognized with a National Edward R. Murrow Award and a Regional Emmy.
Prior to that, he was a reporter at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, LA. and a reporter/anchor at WVAS-FM in Montgomery, Ala. He also previously covered politics for Alabama Public Television and was a reporter at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Ala.
He, his wife Jasmine, his son Jason and dog Bear look forward to all that the Upstate has to offer.
On the weekends: "I love to travel and experience new things. I always feel at home on a beach with a drink in my hand."
My favorite movie: "I'm a HUGE movie lover and can't say no to a good binge watch. My favorite would definitely have to be anything Marvel though."
